Marvelous City Rio is an independent, English-language guide to Rio de Janeiro — written
by people who actually live here.
Most English-language content about Rio is years out of date, needlessly alarmist, or so
generic it could have been written by someone who flew in for a week. A city having this
much of a moment deserves better. Our job is simple: to be the most useful, honest, and
genuinely premium resource for visiting Rio — the answers we’d give a friend.
What that means in practice:

Marvelous City Rio was founded and is edited by Rodrigo Amodei, a born-and-raised
carioca and photographer. Every article is reported, fact-checked against primary sources and signed by
the editors — because how you were told about a city matters as much as who told you.
